A major characteristic of Ikutouen is,The unique character of Tsuboya ware is created using materials sourced from the land of Okinawa.。

The pottery is made using clay sourced from Okinawa, and the glaze also uses limestone from Okinawa Island. Each piece is primarily shaped on a potter's wheel, and then fired in the kiln, with the heat adjusted while monitoring the condition of the clay, glaze, size, and how the pieces are packed.

Therefore, even with pieces of the same shape, differences in color and appearance can arise depending on the firing process, which is one of the unique charms of handmade items.

Furthermore, in addition to preserving traditional techniques, they are also challenging themselves with new shapes and glazes to create tableware that is easy to use in everyday life. As the techniques are passed down to the sixth generation, they continue to create products that connect tradition to modern life.

This pottery studio creates unique Okinawan pottery by utilizing Okinawan clay, glazes, the craftsmanship of artisans, and the very essence of Tsuboya.
