This Aloha shirt brand was founded in Okinawa in 1999. "PAIKAJI" means "wind blowing from the south" in the Okinawan Yaeyama dialect.

PAIKAJI's distinctive features aren't limited to its vibrant designs that incorporate Okinawa's nature and culture. The meticulous attention to detail extends to the dyeing process of the fabric, the way the colors are presented, the silhouette of the shirt, and even the tailoring. That's its appeal.

One of the most distinctive techniques is the use of the reverse side of the fabric. By deliberately placing the dark-colored print, which is usually shown on the outside, on the reverse side of the fabric, a unique look is created where the pattern peeks out from the inside while suppressing the color contrast. The fabric is made with careful consideration from the dyeing stage, including how much color will be visible when the fabric is turned inside out.

Furthermore, PAIKAJI shirts are produced mainly in Okinawa and throughout Japan, with each shirt carefully crafted by artisans ranging from those with many years of experience to younger craftsmen. They are also characterized by their attention to detail in materials and silhouettes, and the shirts become more comfortable and conform to the wearer's body the more they are worn.

Furthermore, they also produced special shirts that combine the craftsmanship of artisans from various regions, such as Ryukyu indigo, a traditional Okinawan dye, Kyoto karakami paper, and domestic sewing techniques. This brand, originating in Okinawa, incorporates techniques from various regions of Japan to create modern aloha shirts.

This aloha shirt brand allows you to enjoy the colors and culture unique to Okinawa while experiencing Japanese craftsmanship in every aspect, from materials and dyeing to design and sewing.
